Holly's Diary

Going to High school

Tuesday, August 16, 2005

I bet that I've written this loads of times, but I'm really going to try to write more on my blog, It's terrible! I haven't written since May!
I was thinking "whats the point of writing on my blog if no one reads it!" but then I thought, "no one is going to read it if I don't write anything!"
This is me trying to make amends!!

I did loads of tests to get into some schools.
Mum wanted me to get a bursary. I got quite a good ones.
The best bursary was to a school called George watsons. Most people probably would of said, "well, if she has got such a good bursary to a good school then we'll send her there", but my mum's not like that, she really wants the best for me. So she took AGES to choose which school was best for me. I'm a catholic, so the state school, that was the other choice, is called St Thomas of Aquins, it is a catholic school. So, mum thought that it would be a good idea for me to go there.....and so on............you get the picture! I tried my best to stay out of the decision, I really didn't mind either way, both schools had good points..... and bad.
FINALLY mum came to a decision, I was to go to George Watons.
I got my uniform, which is : a maroon and greenish kilt, a maroon blazer, maroon and white tie, navy pullover, navy tights and black shoes! Some people moan about wearing uniforms, I don't mind, the uniform isn't exactly the most comfy thing in the world, but it's not really UN-comfortable as such either! At least no one can comment about what I'm wearing, because they're wearing exactly the same as me!

The holidays have gone SO quickly!! Alice (my sister) is moaning about the fact that I have got an extra weeks holiday (she goes back tomorrow, I go back next week!).
At the start we went to france for two weeks, which was good, but it sucked up a whole TWO weeks of precious holiday time, the time in france only felt like a few days. The whole holiday feels like its on >>> fastforward! Then I had a week to see my dad before I went away to a guide camp for a week in Darby, england! It was really fun. I was staying in a tent with four other girls, they are all really nice. Though we didn't really make any new friends (as such) we made better friends with each other!
We took the train down to a place called Darby, where a coach picked us up and took us to the site!
There was 10,000 scouts and guides camping with us. Though not in the same tent!!!!. We put up our tents, went to the opening ceremony, and then slept! The next morning we did our activities, mine was canoing! Every day we did two activities, one in the morning and one in the afternoon!
Every night there was a disco on , They were really fun!! We met LOADS of new people !

When I got off the train, my uncle, aunt, dad,mum and brother were all there to meet me. It was a really nice surprise because I didn't know that my uncle and aunt were up (they live in London) and I don't usually see my dad and mum together!
We had a really nice meal back at the house, where everyone had a laugh, but I was shattered! I was the first one to go to bed, even though the meal was for me!!

The next day we went out for lunch with my uncle and aunt and then we played Pitch and Putt, that was fun.
The next day we left to go Up north to visit my mum's cousin and his wife. They have a lovely house and two Beautiful dogs who we took on walks every morning. We were only up for two days, but we must of walked about sixteen miles! The walks were great fun and the scenery was BREATH TAKING!

After that we went to dads. Frank (a rally good family friend, who is great fun!!) took us "kids" swimming in the commonwealth, where, I am very pleased to say, I jumped of the third diving board, which is 5 meters!!

that's me up to date for now, hope fully I will get around to writing about more relevant things next time!!
